Sherlene "Sherry" Snyder Farmer
Sherlene “Sherry” Snyder Farmer, age 63, of Raleigh, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025, after a courageous and faith-filled battle with cancer.
Born on July 1, 1962, in Virginia to her mother, Virginia Snyder, and the late Tom Snyder, Sherry brought warmth, kindness, and light into every life she touched. She was known by all as a truly beautiful soul—someone who loved deeply, forgave easily, and saw the best in everyone, no matter their flaws or circumstances.
Above all, Sherry’s greatest joy and purpose in life was being a mother. When asked what her life’s goal was, she would always smile and say, “Just to be a good mom and live life the way God would want.” And that she did. Her daughters will forever carry with them her endless love, unwavering strength, kindness, and the lessons she taught.
A viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Renaissance Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Sherry is survived by her loving mother, Virginia Snyder of Raleigh; daughters, Jennifer Farmer Weeks of Raleigh, Katherine Farmer of Raleigh, and Heather Farmer of Raleigh; brother, Roger Nettles and wife, Connie of Carolina Shores, NC; sister-in-law, Joan Richert and husband, Bruce, of Clayton NC; nieces and nephews Stephanie Snyder, Kyle Nettles, Steven Snyder, Jeannette Beaverson, Amanda Nettles, Matthew Snyder, Carson Richert, Peyton Richert; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and bonus children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Farmer; father, Tom Snyder; stepmother, Carol Snyder; brother, Richard Snyder; stepsister, Theresa MacKinnon; and son-in-law, Rick Weeks.
Sherry’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with those she loved, and watching over them.

Sherry, how I wish we could've met. You looked absolutely beautiful at the viewing, and every photo of you literally had me in tears and awe. All of your daughters have your eyes, and are all so beautiful. May you live on through them guiding them as they try to navigate life without you. You will be so missed, I wish I could've met you, but I will make sure to protect my friend Heather as you'd want. I'm sending the Farmer family all of the light in the world right now.
