Sean-Paul Matthew Adams was born on April 1, 1983, in Plainfield, NJ. He left us far too soon on June 27, 2025, at the age of 42.
The youngest of three children, Sean-Paul was born to Arlene and Terence, and grew up under the loving watch of his two older sisters, Alicia and Sonya. When he was four years old, the family moved to Marlton, NJ, where countless cherished memories filled with warmth, love, and laughter were made.
It was in Marlton that Sean-Paul’s boundless creativity first began to shine. From a young age, his expressive nature—rooted in deep focus and intention—was evident in everything he did. He enjoyed drawing to the extent that he was rarely seen without his sketchbook and pencil. Even at family gatherings or while on vacation, Sean-Paul could be found in quiet determination capturing entire worlds on a page. His creativity wasn’t limited to the visual arts—he was also remarkably athletic, excelling in karate and sports like baseball, basketball, and soccer. On the soccer field, his powerful, precise kicks earned him the nickname “The Foot.”
After graduating from Cherokee High School, Sean-Paul went on to study at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation. His passion for anime and adventure took him to Japan twice, where he joyfully immersed himself in the culture that inspired much of his work.
A masterful and brilliant creator, unbelievably skilled with his hands—Sean-Paul was a gifted visual artist, a meticulous cook, a skilled craftsman, and a custom builder of tricked-out computers. There was nothing that he couldn’t do; and whatever he made, he gave it his full heart and focus.
In 2009, Sean-Paul met Jeannette—the love of his life—on OkCupid. According to the algorithm, they were a 98% match. Sean-Paul's laugh was always Netta's favorite thing about him, and they shared a lot of laughs the last 16 years. After a few years in Brooklyn, they bought a house in Raleigh, NC. They then moved to Singapore, where they travelled to more than 30 countries and ate every new food they met. They moved back to Raleigh, NC in 2017, buying another home which they remodeled and worked on until welcoming their greatest adventure—son Terence (“Terry”)—in 2021.
Sean-Paul was the steady heart of his family. He approached fatherhood with the same spirit that defined his life—a spirit that was gentle, playful, imaginative, and wholly devoted.
He had a quiet strength, a generous heart, and a joy that radiated from his broad, easy smile and echoed in his deep, bellowing laugh. Known for his kindness, loyalty, and cheer, Sean-Paul left a lasting imprint on everyone privileged to know him. He was adored by countless family members and friends.
Sean-Paul was preceded in death by his father, Terence, and his grandparents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Jeannette, and son, Terence, of Raleigh, NC; his mother, Arlene, of Mt. Laurel, NJ; his sisters, Alicia (Sherelle) of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Sonya (Archie) of Brooklyn, NY; his nephews, Aidan-Jai and Julian; his niece, Ruby; and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Sean-Paul’s legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the kindness we offer in his memory. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

I want to start by offering my heartfelt condolences for your loss. I only knew Sean-Paul through his work at S-Ranked, but his creativity was unmatched in the PC space. His designs were truly unique. I wanted to reach out and say that I adore what he created. And if, in the future, you would ever be open to it, I would be honored to help continue his work, as I am an engineer and can help to make sure his work lives on, with your guidance and blessing. I hadn't Sean Paul, "Sean P." as he was known to me, since he was a small boy. Today, the first thing that comes to my recollection of Sean P. is my memory of playing with him in his childhood, in his Mom and Dad's house on Norwood Ave. in Plainfield, NJ. I smile when I recall picking him up by just one of my hands (sorry! to his Mom, my Aunt Cheeko) by the front of his shirt and lifting him to eye level, a gag that he seemed to enjoy and find amusing, as young boys tend to be impressed by such 'superhero' antics. And though I hadn't seen him since his childhood I am pleased, and indeed honoured, to have come to learn what an accomplished and excellent young man (yes, 42 years is, to me, still those of a young man) Sean P. grew to be, thanks no doubt to his Mom and Dad. I needed only to listen as I did to the loving, emotional, and sincere words expressed by his wife, his friends, and his family during the celebration of Sean P.'s life for confirmation of the quality of human and man that Sean Paul grew to become. Naturally, we all prefer to have Sean Paul here with us today, and to enjoy his company in THIS time and THIS place. Alas, it was simply not meant to be. BUT, if Sean P. is to be anywhere then let him be with his immediate and extended family who have preceded him into God's rest. We'll meet again, Sean P. I'm certain of it. My brother. I gravitated towards you the first time we were introduced and I remember Netta saying, Rish, you've gotta meet ma man. And bro, we had some of our best times together. Etched in my memory, always. And every time I walk past Duku, I think of the both of you. I live close to Novena now, and I never fail to tell Josie (my LOML) about us. You've always been humble, creative and more importantly, you always gave a shit. You have to know that everyone around knew, you were always one helluva human being. And I am grateful we crossed paths. Food was your way of showing love, and you were an amazing cook. Your laughter man, it was infectious. As sad as I was that both of you needed to uproot once again, I knew it was always for the best. And whilst life might have gotten in the way, I think of you, Netta and Terry all the time. I give thanks for every moment and memory we've shared. My heart is heavy with sorrow - one that perhaps I cannot easily express. But I know you will be looking upon us, and I will carry your light and joy everyday. Your family will always be extension of mine, no matter how far. Rest in power brother. PS: To Jeannette and Terry, I love you. You're always welcome back on the sunny island and I cannot wait to give all of you the biggest hugs... the kind only ma man digispa would give. To Jeanette, Arlene and the Adams' Families: The passing of your beloved Sean-Paul has brought tears to my eyes and sorrow to my heart...... GONE TOO SOON! ........May his soul rest in peace! It is so hard to accept a loss .....the ending of a life......of a husband, a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a friend,.....someone everyone loved and cherished, and who will be greatly missed by the family. Remember, that though our heavenly Father takes away, He also gives new life in the midst of our sorrow and grief. I pray for you and the family. May the Holy Spirit encourage and comfort you during this difficult time. No matter what happens, you can trust in the faithfulness of God who gives strength, peace and hope for every situation. God will always hold you up.....so "Lean on Him when you're not strong, and He'll be your friend, He'll help you carry on" Say to Him "I trust You Lord". What a beautiful obituary. I couldn't have said it better about Sean-Paul's smile, laugh, kindness, creativity, work ethic, and all the joy he brought into the world. He and Jeannette were a lifeline for me and my family in Singapore. Our time there wouldn't have been nearly as special without them. My son adored him. I still remember first meeting him and then them in Brooklyn—they were the cutest. Their love for each other was undeniable. My heart goes out to Jeannette, Terry, and Sean-Paul's family. The world has lost a truly beautiful soul.
