Robert Wolfrom passed away on October 2, 2025, after a long battle with LB Dementia. He was surrounded by family and friends when he peacefully succumbed to his illness. Bob was born in Syracuse, NY on December 7, 1940. He was an outstanding student, always graduating at the head of his class. He attended Syracuse University, College of Engineering. Upon graduation, he secured a position with IBM but decided to enlist in the army before starting his career. During his thirty years at IBM, he specialized in keyboard design, barcode scanning and robotics. He was fortunate to travel and work in several countries including Scotland, Japan and France.

Bob became quite an expert on rural roads in North Carolina due to his love of bicycling, which he took up later in life. He also enjoyed running marathons. He participated in the Boston Marathon, Assault on Mount Mitchell, Paris Brest Paris in France and the NC Senior Games. He earned many accolades and awards through his participation in these events. He also enjoyed his membership in the Sons of the American Revolution.

Bob was a man of faith and loved his country. He adored his wife and family. He was married to his beloved Cory for 33 years. They truly enjoyed each other’s company whether it be heartfelt conversations, watching Jeopardy, entertaining family and friends, or traveling to many parts of the world.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents John (Jack) H Wolfrom and Alice Marie Wilson Adamy. He was born Robert John Adamy, but considered Jack Wolfrom, his true dad, who raised him and had the most influence on his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Corinne (Cory) Wolfrom; dear daughter, Diana Wolfrom (Stephen) Gadbois; son, Alex Wolfrom; step-daughter Cecily McGinnis and family; granddaughters, Megan (James) Fulden, and Samantha Peedin; great-grandson, James (JJ) all of Raleigh; sister, Valerie (Steve) Eggert of Syracuse; sister-in law, Francine Marasco, of Knoxville and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

Robert’s Funeral Mass will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Church and Columbarium on Friday, October 17, at 11:00 AM.
