Rita Catherine Litts
Rita Catherine Litts, 81, of Morrisville, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025.
Rita was born on August 26, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Harold Ross Corbett, Sr. and Rita Catherine Kelly Corbett. Rita graduated from Babylon (NY) High School in 1961, and while raising her four sons pursued a variety of career interests culminating in the fast-paced world of semiconductor sales during the technology revolution of the 1980s. After her husband Ed retired from the Suffolk County Police, they enjoyed exploring the United States and Canada together by motorhome. Rita was a life-long reader, expressed her artistic talents through needlepoint and crochet, and enjoyed playing cards, board games, and jigsaw puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years Edward C. Litts, her brother Harold Ross Corbett Jr., her sister Muriel Corbett O’Connell, her son Michael Farrelly, and stepdaughter Laura Jean Weiss.
Rita is survived by her brother Joseph Corbett, her sons John Farrelly and his wife Kim, Tim Farrelly and his wife Judy, and Matt Smith and his wife Sue, her grandchildren Kaitlyn Farrelly, Lucas Farrelly, Shannon Farrelly, and Abbie Smith, and her great granddaughter Sophia Farrelly. She is also survived by her stepchildren Edward Litts, Linda Micucci, Susan Garafola, and Tom Litts, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Liturgy of the Word service will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 10am, at Renaissance Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.

My condolences go out to all. I'm so sorry for your loss. The world feels a little dimmer with the passing of my dear Aunt Rita. Her warmth and kindness, and the way she made me feel loved will be deeply missed. I cherish the conversations we shared over the phone. The laughter and the wisdom she gave me. Though she is gone. Her spirit will live on in our hearts. I'm so grateful for the time I had with her when we celebrated her surprise Birthday party in N. Carolina. She will be a guiding light throughout my life always. I love you Aunt Rita🩷
