Patricia Ann Humphrey-Kloes was the daughter of Allen and Sallie Humphrey. She is survived by her nephew, James Alexander Humphrey and step-sons, Scott, Sean, and Chris Kloes. She was preceded in death by her husband Riley Kloes and brother, Jim Humphrey.

Pat was a graduate of Watts College of Nursing in 1963, received her BSN from UNC School of Nursing in 1967, her MPH from UNC School of Public Health in 1972 and her EdD from NC State.

She held a number of positions in nursing for over 47 years, including staff and head nurse at Watts Hospital in Durham, NC; Public Health Nurse at the Durham Health Department; nurse educator at Duke University; staff nurse and recruiter at Durham VA Hospital. The last sixteen years of her career were at John Umstead Hospital in Butner, NC as the Associate and Director of Nursing.

After retirement, Pat enjoyed gardening, water aerobics, Bible Study, playing Bridge and later in life, Mahjongg. She was a member of the Woman's Club of Durham and The Woman's Club of Raleigh. She volunteered at NCMA for over ten years, was an active member of Soapstone United Methodist Church for over thirty years, served in leadership positions on several occasions and completed three of the Disciple Studies while there.

A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled at Soapstone UMC (12837 Norwood Rd. Raleigh, NC 27613) on Saturday, August 2nd at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
