Noelle Gene Nowak

Noelle Gene, as her mother often called her even when Noelle was not in trouble, moved to her heavenly home on July 10, 2025.

She will be missed by so many and remembered, notably, for her loving personality, contagious laughter, a beautiful voice, and her compassionate bear hugs! Noelle loved people, their stories and their lives, and she cherished time with animals - specifically her chocolate lab, Chuck!

Her innate ability to spread happiness and spark curiosity in young children - much like her mother - was evident during her work with teaching and learning. Noelle touched the lives of many and her beautiful smile will be remembered as a sign of her genuine, loving spirit.

She is home now, resting peacefully with Mom and Dad, Scott, her loving Nana, Buscia and Gramps, and we can find joy knowing she’s probably playing ball with Chuck!

I am shocked and heartbroken! I had no idea my friend had passed away. I would literally speak to her often and help her. Nobody knew! She helped me in other ways. She would help me deal with missing my mom. We would talk about both of our moms being gone and talk about memories. She would help me with the hurt of missing my mom. I love you Noelle!

Noelle was a beautiful person with the voice of an angel. I am grateful to have known her through our daughter's friendship with her that began at Presbyterian Camp Albemarle. From their earliest teens they remained friends. Our whole family will forever cherish the memory of a recent Christmas Noelle spent with us. Her strong faith never wavered despite her many health challenges, and her sweet, loving spirit inspired many. Thankful she now rests in peace and perfect health.

The world is dimmer without Noelle in it. She is a light whose heart held love for everyone she encountered, and she never met a stranger. She always offered a smile and uplifting word, whether for a long-time friend or someone she met on the bus or at a checkout line. I met Noelle at Camp Albemarle when we were 15 and am grateful for our friendship which has endured over decades, as recent as the Christmas she spent with my family two years ago and the deep talks we've shared since. I have always been in awe of Noelle's strength, courage, resilience, and ability to find meaning and gratitude even in the darkest seasons of life. Her loving heart in physical form was represented in her warm, tight, long-held hugs. Her joyful spirit was evidenced in her dancing eyes and exuberant laugh. Her deep soul and faith rang through in her soulful singing voice. She loved trees, nature, animals, people, and life itself. I have always been in awe of her since age 15 and will do my best to emulate her courage and authenticity as I move through this world while missing her presence in it. I love you, Noelle.
