Margaret J. Hepler Girone
Margaret Joan Hepler Girone of Raleigh, NC, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the age of 93.
She was born on November 17, 1931, in Clarion, PA, the fourth of seven children of Rayburn Hepler and Anna Claire Slaugenhoupt Hepler.
In 1953, Margaret married G. Michael Girone, beginning her life as an Army wife and mother. Their family moved often, a pattern that continued throughout her husband's military service and later career as a hospital administrator. Through it all, Margaret’s greatest love and joy remained her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G. Michael Girone, a newborn son, and six of her siblings.
Margaret is survived by her four children: Robin Clapp (Rick), Michael Girone (Marta), Diana Best (Thomas), and Andrew Girone (Patricia); nine grandchildren: Ricky Clapp (Erin), Katherine Canada (Brandon), Timothy Clapp, Annaleise Girone, Martin Best, Margaret Best, Zachary Girone (Carolyn), Anson Girone, and Elliott Girone; and six great-grandchildren: Cillian, Patrick, Aislin, Henry, Scarlett, and Harper.
She is also survived by her siblings, Richard Hepler and Susan Smith, along with many extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.

Sorry for your loss .I remember then we came to visit u all in penscola fl.went to the beach with u and the kids ..we got it trouble when u and Mike got home sooner then u were going home ..we bring pizza in my purse from a restaurant..I had my great memories of your mom...sending prayers and hugs ...from your Aunt Oleta hepler Vanmeter..

My condolenses to your whole family.. My memory of your Matriarch was she was a Sweet. Sharp and Funny Lady. She was always appreciative of the care she received. My favorite memory was being together for the "white smoke" and watching the end of the Papal Conclave- Welcoming Pope Leo XIV! I am thankful for being your nurse and a part of your Heartland Hospice Journey. God Bless!
