Latrice Bennett Lyons
Latrice Denise Lyons, a beloved daughter, family member, and friend, departed this life on April 3, 2026, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, at the age of 51.
Latrice Bennett Lyons was born on March 31, 1975, in Wadesboro, North Carolina, to the late Albert Bennett, Sr. and the late Freddie Mae Bennett, both of whom preceded her in death.
On December 1, 2025, Latrice was united in holy matrimony to her devoted husband, Antoine Lyons, a union filled with love, faith, and family.
At a young age and continuing into adulthood, Latrice attended Thomas Chapel AME Zion Church, where she began her spiritual foundation. Later in life, she joined Greater Praise Kingdom Church, Inc., alongside her husband and children, where she continued to grow in faith and fellowship.
Latrice was a proud graduate of Anson Senior High School, Class of 1993. She continued her education and, in 2005, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Fayetteville State University. Her commitment to education reflected her determination, discipline, and desire to make a meaningful impact in her community.
Latrice was known for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family and community. She touched many lives through her compassion, warm spirit, and dedication to those she held dear. Latrice also had a creative spirit—she loved creating things and found great joy in dancing, bringing light and energy to those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her devoted husband, Antoine Lyons; her children, daughters Jasmine Palmer (Greg) of Lexington, North Carolina, and Mariah Lyons of the home; one son, Marco Lyons of the home; her cherished grandchildren, Camryn, Amriah, and Amir; one brother, Albert Bennett, Jr. (Mary) of Pinehurst, North Carolina; nieces, Casandra Bennett, Savannah Williams (Lee), and Albertina Bennett; nephews, Albert Bennett III and Dytrell Miller; a special aunt, Gail Ratliff; and a host of other aunts, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Latrice was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Bennett, Sr. and Freddie Mae Bennett; and her beloved grandparents, Freddie and Ada Singleton, and Jeff and Alberta Ratliff.
