Katherine Donna Woodward Hall, 67, died in Raleigh, NC on October 30, 2025, after fighting a five year battle with advanced ovarian cancer and more recently with drug-induced acute myeloid leukemia. Katherine, or Kate, was born in Newton, MA on July 4, 1958. She was raised in the Boston area and later in Cheshire, CT. She graduated from the University of Vermont and received her MBA from Boston University. It was in the Boston area where she met her husband of 39 years and had her only child. In 1991, she moved to Raleigh, NC with her husband and son, and lived there until her death.

Kate held many different types of jobs, with her last job being a senior director of operations for the Autism Society of North Carolina. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, watching sporting events and serving her community.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey Melville Hall II of Raleigh, NC; her son, William Harvey Hall of Raleigh, NC; her sisters Ann Donovan (Jim) of Westford, MA, Mary Gallicano (Billy) of Butte, MT, and Joan Woodward of North Falmouth, MA. She is also survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her father Richard Henry Woodward, her biological mother Donna Lee Woodward, and her adoptive mother Ruth Sullivan Woodward.

The Hall Family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and other staff at the Duke Blood Cancer Center, the Duke Cancer Care Centers and Transitions LifeCare who were supportive to the family over the last five years. In addition, the Hall Family would also like to thank all of the friends and extended family members who were supportive during the last five years as well.

A wake will be held at Renaissance Funeral Home and Crematory in Raleigh, NC on Tuesday, November 11th at 6pm. After the wake, a funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Raleigh, NC on Wednesday, November 12th at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an ovarian cancer research group, since ovarian cancer is widely considered underfunded compared to other major cancers given its high mortality rate and impact.
