Joyce Louise (Goodale) Dudgeon, born March 5, 1935, in Hartford, Connecticut, daughter of Percy and Agnes (Weber) Goodale, passed away peacefully at her home in Raleigh, North Carolina, on March 20, 2026.

Joyce grew up in Enfield, Connecticut, and later raised her family in Willington, Connecticut, and retired to South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, where she and her husband Stuart spent many happy years on their beloved Cape Cod.

Joyce graduated from Bay Path Junior College followed by a successful career working at Otis Elevator prior to marriage and children, then alongside Stuart in his business before retiring from the University of Connecticut’s School of Chemical Engineering. Above all, Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Joyce was caring and thoughtful, always ready to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Joyce delighted in playing games of all kinds—especially with her grandchildren—and enjoyed puzzles, reading, knitting, and baking. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and every moment of her grandchildren’s visits.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Stuart Anthony Dudgeon, her sister Jacquelyn Goodenough, and her brothers Lee and Albert Goodale. Joyce is survived by her children and their spouses Cynthia Tillman (Daniel), Lee Gordon (Kevin), and Robert Dudgeon (Jane); her grandchildren Cameron (Ben) and Crosby Tillman, Jessica Mulligan (Andy), Taylor Payne (Zach),Paige Gordon (Bryce), Connor, Kelsey, Kiernan, and Aidan Dudgeon, Emma (Adam) Robinson, and Chadd Schwartz; her great-grandchildren Tracey, Jordan, Rose, Parker, Sloane, and Callum and fifteen nieces and nephews.

Joyce will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her open heart, and the joy she found in time spent with family, especially the treasured moments shared with her grandchildren on Cape Cod, memories that will be held close forever.
