  We honor the life of Tantine Germaine, whom I knew lovingly as Mama Maj. I have known her since the 1990s, through her son Maj. From the very beginning, she welcomed me—and my twin—with kindness that felt effortless and genuine. Mama Maj was always smiling, always offering words of comfort, encouragement, and wisdom. Being in her presence made you feel seen, safe, and uplifted. Her hospitality was a true blessing. I remember the good days we spent at their home—long evenings filled with laughter, warmth, and good food. Her generosity was not something she turned on and off; it was who she was. She gave from the heart, freely and joyfully. Years later, when we reunited here in the U.S., that same generous spirit was still so present. Time and distance never changed her. To me, she was more than a friend's mother—she was my aunt. And that is how I will always remember her. Mama Maj leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and open doors. She will be deeply missed, but her smile, her warmth, and her generous heart will continue to live on in all of us who were blessed to know her💙. Yves and Shauna Mukusa

  To the beautiful and faithful Mambounou family, Our hearts are with you in this tender moment of loss. Your mother was a woman whose light touched so many, and the love she poured into her family is evident in the strength, unity, and grace each of you carries. Though her earthly journey has come to a close, her spirit, her prayers, and her legacy continue to live richly through you. As believers in Jesus Christ, you know that this separation is only temporary. Still, grief is real, and God meets us right there—with comfort, with nearness, and with a peace that doesn't always make sense but always holds steady. I pray that in the quiet moments, you feel His arms around you, reminding you that He is close to the brokenhearted and that your mother now rests in the fullness of His glory. May the memories you shared bring warmth, may the love she gave continue to guide you, and may the hope of Christ anchor your hearts in the days ahead.
