Douglas Wipperman, 79, of Raleigh, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

Douglas was born on December 5, 1945, in Queens, New York, to the late Richard Wipperman and Grace Kreuscher Wipperman. He was a light that shined for all that knew him and lived every day with honesty, integrity and a generous heart. He was always smiling and happy to meet and talk with everyone. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and above all loved his wife and family with all his heart. His passing will leave a very large hole in all of our hearts but we know he is now in heaven making even more friends with all the Saints, family and friends that are already there.

Douglas Served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967 as an MP. He attended both Pace and Fordham Universities in NYC receiving his Bachelor's degree in Business and Masters degree in Business Administration.

Douglas loved to serve others and volunteered much of his time throughout his life. He was the President of the Levittown, NY soccer club and coach of many of his son's soccer teams including St Mary's High School in Manhasset, NY. He was also heavily involved in the Church both in NY and NC serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus, leading Pre Cana classes and assisting as a part of the Core team for the Ignited by Truth Catholic Conference. His career in Business and Information Technology spanned multiple decades and included time with the Federal Reserve in NYC, Guardian Mortgage in Garden City, NY and Chief Information Officer roles in the Nassau County Medical Center and Nassau County Dept of Information Technology.

In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his brother Richard Wipperman and son Douglas Wipperman.

Douglas is survived by his wife of 59 years Jacqueline Wipperman; three sons Scott Wipperman (Allison), Keith Wipperman (Korri) and Brian Wipperman (Dani). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as Frugga; Andy Wipperman (Claire), Timmy Wipperman, Dylan Wipperman, Kyle Wipperman (Aspen), Gabrielle Wipperman, Caitlyn Wipperman, Elizabeth Wipperman, Christopher Wipperman, Londyn Wipperman, Ledger Wipperman, Locklynn Wipperman, Natalie Wipperman, Grace Wipperman, Matthew Wipperman, Aidan Loseke and Rowan Loseke. He is also survived by 1 great granddaughter Riley Mae Wipperman.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 11:30am, at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 12333 Bayleaf Church Rd, Raleigh, NC 27614. A reception will be held following the mass in the parish hall.
