Mrs. Diane Reaves, 75 of Raleigh, NC peacefully passed away on October 2, 2026. She was the daughter of the late William P. and Eleanor Barnes. Born October 23, 1950, in Raleigh, NC, she attended Wake County public schools. She was united in matrimony with Brad Reaves in August of 1992.

Early on Diane authored a column in the Gold Leaf Farmer publication out of Wendell, NC, titled, “Daisies by Diane”. Daisies were among her favorite flowers and she would often doodle a daisy atop various papers and notepads. She also served in the hospitality industry at the Velvet Cloak Inn and the Royal Villa Hotel and Convention Center. Diane finished her years of work as a claims specialist with the Pergo flooring company.

In addition to doodling, Diane enjoyed painting Santa Claus figurines and giving them all away!

Not only did Diane read the Bible from cover to cover but she studied it extensively. She also counseled many others along their faith journey as a Stephen Minister in her church. Her Christian faith and her family were the most important things in her life, but the truest love of her life was her precious pup, Jesse, who brought her immense joy!

Diane is survived by her husband, Brad Reaves; her children, Toni Hildebrand (Harold Herman), Kelly Vetter (Brian Vetter), and Daniel Reaves; and grandchildren, Blake Hildebrand (Beth Holdsclaw), Kyle Vetter, and Ashley Vetter. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

The family will welcome guests for a time of visitation on Thursday, October 8th at Renaissance Funeral Home, Raleigh, NC, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by burial at Historic Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh, NC.
