Debbie Martin Homesley, of Raleigh, NC, died on February 27, 2026. Debbie was born on October 28, 1958 in Raleigh, NC where she lived most of her life. Debbie is the daughter of the late Malcolm N. Martin, Jr. and Otelia “Tillie” A. Swanson of Louisburg, NC.

Debbie attended school in Wake County and attended Barton College (formerly Atlantic Christian College) in Wilson, NC. Debbie married Wade Homesley on June 2, 1990, and resided in Raleigh.

She was generous, caring and kind. She was a devoted wife. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother. She loved the Lord and her family, which included numerous cats and koi, which she had named. Her voice and laugh were both unique and charming. People knew immediately who they were hearing. Debbie was artistic. She liked photography, writing in her journals, and decorating, especially for Christmas and Halloween. She loved collectibles, making cards, and finding that unique gift. She loved shopping, especially for clothing and jewelry. She loved television and film, especially scary movies. She loved watching documentaries on a variety of topics, and enjoyed sharing and discussing the ideas with others. She loved sunglasses and rarely left home without them. She loved country cookin, fish frys, and family reunions. She loved games, she could never pass up bingo, whether she was at White Lake or Las Vegas.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Malcolm N. Martin, Jr. of Louisburg, NC. She is survived by her spouse, Wade and her son, Jonathan, of Raleigh, NC, her mother Otelia “Tillie” A. Swanson of Louisburg, NC, sister-in-law, Amy Homesley, several aunts, an uncle, and many cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. Officiating the service will be Pastor G. Scott Homesley. Visitation will be held at 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27601.
