David Blake Corry
David Blake Corry, 77, of Raleigh, gained his angel wings on April 30, 2026.
David was born in Charlotte, NC, on August 19, 1948, to Betty Blake Corry and Jimmie Smith Corry. As a young child, he was very active in anything that involved friendly competition. He loved all sports, but especially excelled in baseball and football. David attended Myers Park High School, where he developed many lifelong friendships—many of which he still cherished up until his last day.
David attended Wingate University in Charlotte and went on to build a successful career in the sales industry. Sales came naturally to him due to his easygoing demeanor and outgoing personality.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps at Parris Island and took tremendous pride in that role.
David Corry will be remembered for his big personality and nurturing spirit. He never met a stranger, and his ability to make everyone feel seen was unparalleled. He was a proud father to his three children, whom he raised as a single parent for many years. One of David’s greatest joys was being “D-Diddy” to his grandchildren. His children and grandchildren brought him immense happiness, and it was a gift to watch him dote on each of them.
He will also be remembered as a faithful and loving husband to his beautiful bride, Paulette Corry. The bond they shared was unbreakable, and the love between them remained strong and evident until his last day.
David took great pride in being the patriarch of his family. He would have dropped everything for any one of them. He lived his life with purpose and meaning and truly had a heart of gold. He was an incredible storyteller and had a laugh that was impossible to forget. His kindness and compassion for others were always evident. He loved the game of golf and staying active—whether walking the greenway or doing backflips off the diving board with his family.
David will be forever missed but never forgotten in his unselfish concern for the welfare of others. The world of all who loved him will forever shine a little dimmer without him here. A devoted father, husband, D-Diddy, brother, uncle and friend…we miss you and long for the day we see you again.
David is survived by his wife of nearly 23 years, Paulette Corry; his children, Kristin Giordano and son-in-law Bryan Giordano; Betsy Corry and husband Corey Noble; James Corry and wife Elizabeth Corry; and stepson Damon Frazee Jr. and wife Cathy Frazee
He is survived by several grandchildren: Easton Giordano, Sadie Giordano, Sophia Corry, Katherine Corry, Brandon Frazee and wife Sierra, Tyler Murrell and husband Jacob, and great-grandchild Addison Frazee
He is survived by his siblings, Robert Corry and wife Nathalie Corry; Jeff Corry and partner Ken Bede; Sherry Marshall and husband Danny Marshall; and Kim Barnette
He is survived by his nieces and nephews: George Bryan, Ross Bryan, Mary Bryan, Mac McPherson, Meredith Paratore and husband Jake Paratore, Anne-Sophie Corry, William Corry, and Peyton McPherson
He was preceded in death by Betty Corry, Jimmie Corry, Cloie Corry, Joseph Bishop, Daniel Barnette, and Cyd Copeland
And countless friends whom he loved like family.

May 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Renaissance Funeral Home, located at 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615.

I'm so sorry for your loss of David! He was my friend. Even though I was his caregiver. David was a wonderful man! He Loved his wife Paulette and of course his Children and grands! I will truly Miss David Corry it has been a pleasure taking care of him, and being There for Paulette! I Love them ♥️

I have just learned of David's passing. A terrible shock. He was part of our family growing up in Charlotte, being best friends with my brother Brad. What an upbeat, happy and quick to laugh person he was. Always positive, and always looking for the next great deal to be part of. Paulette, we are thinking of you and the fun times we all shared.
