Barbara Lynn (Boice) Ludwig, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026. Born on October 9, 1944, Barbara was a strong spirited woman whose warmth, resilience, and unwavering love for her family touched the lives of everyone around her.

Barbara found joy in the simple moments—whether that meant dancing, watching football, walking along the beach searching for shells, or volunteering. Above all, she cherished time spent with family and friends and had a way of making the moments she shared with them meaningful. Strong-willed and fiercely independent, Barbara had a determination that was unmistakably her own—a quality that was as much a part of her charm as her strength and tenacity.

Barbara took pride in her family. She was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother who celebrated every milestone with pride, and a loving great-grandmother who treasured the newest generation of her family. Her enduring legacy of love, fun, strength, and perseverance will live on through the generations she nurtured.

She is survived by her four children, Tamara Aikins (and her husband, Joseph Aikins), David Baxter (Valerie Wheat), Dan Baxter (Michele Baxter), and Mark Baxter (Leigh Baxter); her seven grandchildren, Alexis Casey (Brendan Casey), Micaela Aikins (Lucas Smith), Bryce Baxter (Amanda Abarca), Ellie Baxter, Chase Baxter, Payton Baxter, and Tyson Baxter; and her beloved great-grandson, Shane Casey.

In accordance with her wishes, no public memorial service will be held. The family will gather privately to honor her memory and celebrate her beautiful life.
