Virginia Sickels July 22,1925 – February 01, 2019

Virginia Conerly Sickels of Durham, NC passed away on February 1, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sickels; her sister, Lou Conerly Hall; and her parents, Alvin and Erlene Conerly.

She is survived by her son, Bryan Sickels and daughter-in-law, Ronda Sickels of Raleigh, NC; sister, Brinson Conerly Perks (Paul) of Solomons, Maryland; several nieces and nephews in the Sickels and Conerly families, and her cat “Tiger”.

Virginia enjoyed reading and crocheting, having crocheted over 1800 hats for NC Packs for Patriots. Earlier in life she had had many different careers including working for the Mississippi Chancery Clerk and for Delta Air Lines, and as a secretary/typist for several attorneys and doctors in Mississippi and in North Carolina.

At Virginia’s request the family will receive friends on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615.
