Obituary For Ivy Marshall

This past week Ivy Marshall moved on to a more beautiful, peaceful place. Her only child David, daughter in law Carol, grandchildren, David, Kristen, Jill and Noelle, their loving spouses and two beautiful great grandsons, Declan and Atlee will miss her dearly.

Ivy was born in Liverpool England, eldest of the four daughters of Edith Brennan and William Davies. Ivy married Reginald Marshall in 1942 and later had their one child David born on their first anniversary. In December, 1948 Ivy, Reginald and young son David sailed to America and settled in the Green Mountain state of Vermont. Ivy spent most of her life in Vermont. Summers were spent on beautiful Lake Champlain with the grandkids, laughing and swimming.

A few years after Reginald past away, Ivy met her second significant other, Henry Mackie. Ivy spent another 25 happy years traveling the world and Just enjoying life in general with Henry at her side.

Ivy enjoyed her "programs," her afternoon "spot of tea" and most of all spending time with her family. She laughed and danced with her grandkids. She always enjoyed the holidays. She had bright colorful lights on her Christmas trees. She'd have cookies hidden away in her pretty tins and made an unforgettable fruitcake that no one will ever be able to recreate.

She looked beautiful in lavender and always had a dainty pair of earrings to match. Our English Ivy was a lot of fun and although we will miss her dearly her laughter will forever ring in our ears and fill our hearts. Love you, Grammy.
