Obituary For Brendon Royall

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the educational fund for Rowan Royall: https://www.youcaring.com/rowandavidroyallissonofbrendonroyallnumsen-957669

Brendon Royall, 43, died on September 17, 2017 in Springfield, MA. Brendon was born on Nov. 22, 1973 to Mia Austin Numsen and Dennes Numsen, in Raleigh, NC. As an adult, Brendon assumed the surname, Royall, the maiden name of his grandmother, Clara Royall Austin.

Brendon grew up in Raleigh, and earned his high school equivalency diploma from Wake Technical Community College. In 2012, Brendon joined fiance, Kaelan A. Rhiannon, in Springfield, MA. On January 1, 2017, Brendon and Kaelan joyfully welcomed their son, Rowan David Royall.

In Springfield, Brendon was employed by New England Lumber, and was an active member of PCF Gym. Brendon competed in, and won, many power lifting competitions in the New England area. A nationally ranked lifter, Brendon held world records in men’s Squat and Bench Press, Raw Modern Division.

Brendon delighted children at a local day care on his way to the gym when he’d flex his muscles for them, and he and they would wave to each other.

Brendon loved animals, and always had pets growing up. On a trail in Springfield, he found an abandoned baby raccoon who seemed to be asking for help. Brendon held the little creature until a woman from the local zoo found someone to care for it.

Baby Rowan joined Brendon and Kaelan’s five feline “ fur babies” when he was born. Silver Bells, a long-haired silver and white male, was Brendon’s special buddy. The huge cat slept on Brendon’s chest every night.

Above all, Brendon loved Kaelan and Rowan. In Kaelan, Brendon’s heart found its home. Rowan is his parents’ legacy of love.

Brendon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Clara Austin.

Brendon is survived by his beloved wife, Kaelan Rhiannon Royall, and treasured son, Rowan David Royall, of Springfield, MA. Devoted sons Oscar W. Emmary, and Jacob A. Emmary, and granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Emmary, all of Knightdale, NC, also survive. They join Brendon’s loving parents, Mia Austin-Scoggins and David H. Scoggins, of Raleigh, to cherish his beautiful memory. Brendon is gone from us, but not lost to us. Shared forever by and through us, Brendon will shine on brightly in the memories of his family and his friends.

In middle school I used to go stay the weekend occasionally with Brendan and hangout. He was a great friend and gave his heart freely to his friends. The world is not as good a place without him in it, he will be missed.
